Find Your Perfect Nashville Lactation Consultant
Blessed Beginnings Team
This one is near and dear to my heart, because Taylor King, RN, IBCLC (the lactation consultant who helped me personally with my breastfeeding journey) is on this team! Blessed Beginnings Team is made up of a beautiful group of lactation consultants, many of whom are also RNs and have spent time in pediatrics or NICU (also near to my heart), and all are IBCLCs. “The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential is the highest-regarded professional qualification in breastfeeding knowledge and support, recognized all over the world.” What an incredible credential to have! Each of their team members has a specialty and extensive knowledge and experience to help you and your baby in your breastfeeding journey. Blessed Beginnings offers group breastfeeding support, in home lactation consultations and postpartum care, as well as infant CPR and choking classes. They have lactation consultants covering most Middle TN counties (including Davidson, Williamson and Rutherford).
A bit more about working with Taylor: She is amazing! You can tell she is meant to be in this field. She has a very sweet and special presence about her, that she just brings peace and calmness even in the midst of what can be a stressful time. I was immediately comfortable with her, and that is so wonderful in such a vulnerable state. My own breastfeeding journey was tough to start, as my daughter was born 2 months early and was not ready to eat by mouth for a while. I was an exclusive pumper for a few weeks (and continued to mostly pump for several months), and Taylor helped me so much with all things pumping, even down to telling me realistically how long in between pumping I could go so I could get some MUCH needed sleep (which, if you’ve had a baby you KNOW how important sleep becomes!) She gave me advice on great options for minimizing my clogging and the potential of mastitis. Taylor helped me and my baby nurse for the first time ever – and helped me understand proper latch so I could help my baby get the most out of nursing. As important as all that is, what meant even more to me was that she checked in on me. Not just how breastfeeding/pumping was going, but how I was doing. And she really cared about my response! Especially when you are newly postpartum, that means the world! My little preemie went on to have a long, beautiful and very successful nursing journey (until she was ready to wean) – that is absolutely the biggest blessing to me. I couldn’t have done that without Taylor’s help, and I am forever grateful that my breastfeeding dreams came true!
